  • Home Run for Lincoln

    I was lucky enough to get one of the first Aviators in South Florida a few weeks ago and love the car. I had been following development for some time, but wanted to see the finished product before moving forward. I was not disappointed as the car lived up to it's hype in every aspect. First off, the fit and finish is as good or better than any of the more expensive European SUVs. The interior leather and detail are worth every penny spent for the Black Label edition. Although, I only have a few weeks with the car I have done a couple of 400+ mile trips and the performance and ride are exceptional. I'll update this review after I've had six months behind the wheel.
  • 2020 Aviator sets bar high for all Mid-Size SUVs!

    I took delivery on my 2020 Aviator (custom order-out) in November 2019. I consider myself a very educated, conscientious vehicle shopper and have researching the purchase of a mid-size, luxury SUV for the past year. I need to admit that I've been a very loyal GM customer having purchased 13 New GM vehicles within our household over the past 30 years. Let it be known that my reason from turning away from GM was NOT because of any bad experiences with their products. Simply stated, I've become increasingly frustrated with GMs failure to seriously differentiate the designs between its product lines which include Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac. With the exception of some simple exterior/interior cues, GM seems to insist on sharing one common parts-bin amongst all of its product divisions. As a result, many of the GM products seem to look alike and appear very "dated". I sincerely was searching for a vehicle to "wow" me and absolutely stand-out from the crowd of Mid-Size Luxury SUVs. I eventually decided to focus-in on the two major domestic luxury brands; Lincoln and Cadillac. Having been a lifelong (hard-core) GM customer, it was a pivotal point in my life when I realized that all my comparison research (which included test drives) as well as my common sense, was screaming the obvious fact that these two vehicles were not even close! I can only imply that if you are considering the Aviator versus the XT6 for purchase, it would be a regretful mistake not to choose the Lincoln Aviator. This is how I arrived at my conclusion: First, GM has demonstrated some serious neglect in the XT6 engineering by fast-tracking its production. As a result, the XT6 became a stretched version of the XT5, which limited its development, therefore forcing serious comprises in its design, quality, comfort and ultimate luxury. Key points where the XT6 falls short when compared are, the use of the C1XX (stretched XT5) front wheel drive platform, use of the 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 engine, no option for a Hybrid variant engine and a base MSRP that is already within 2K of the Aviator. Ultimately, the XT6 is a well-dressed and rebadged Enclave, Traverse or Acadia that presents itself with the simplest differences in grills, tailgates and dashboards. In sharp contrast, the new Lincoln Aviator is truly a redesigned luxury vehicle that cannot be mistaken for the 2020 Ford Explorer (which shares the same platform). Lincoln did some serious homework and accomplished some serious engineering goals. Not only has Lincoln separated itself brilliantly from its Ford brethren, but it truly put a lot of distance between itself and the Cadillac XT6 as well as every other in the same Class. The Aviator's exterior design, stance and interior are far better executed. The fit and finish is simply on par with the finest European brands. The powertrain, with its “in-charge” base Twin-Turbocharged 400 HP V-6 engine is more capable and efficient. Additionally, there is a Hybrid option. The interior is comprised of materials and detail that exhibit higher quality and comfort, which will surely put the other brands on-notice. The digital instrumentation, infotainment, sound system and safety features are outstanding. It is obvious that the Lincoln Aviator was meticulously designed from bottom up, while not being rushed into production. More personally, as I approach the 3K mile mark on the odometer, my Aviator has experienced some relatively brutal Wisconsin winter weather. The AWD system has demonstrated confidence and reassurance. I have yet to have had ANY occurrence of mechanical or “tech” related issues with my vehicle. I am exceptionally pleased with its comfort, quietness and performance around the City, on the multi-lane Interstate Highway System and on the back Country roads. With my opinion aside, only future sales will definitively dictate who will come out ahead. I simply encourage careful research and common sense before you buy!
  • A quality vehicle designed by true craftsman!

    All I can say is wow! If you are a craftsman, an artist, or someone whom appreciates true quality down to every detail; then new 2020 Lincoln Aviator is for you! The drive is quiet and smooth but when I need some real horse power to get up to speed fast this car can supply it. The exterior of the vehicle is gorgeous, but then step inside the Aviator and it feels like an aircraft cockpit with still the sense of being a car and not an airplane. Being my wife and I are both pilots were pretty amazed by the luxurious feel of the leather interior, piano key gear shift, the dials and buttons, the suede headliner, and functionality of the HUD works with polarized sunglasses even. The Co Pilot Plus package almost drives the car itself when engaging the adaptive cruise control with steering assist. The new adaptive air suspension really does make for a soft and luxurious ride, but wait your seats have massage with 30 way adjustments. Throw the Aviator into Sports Mode and it will push you back into the seat. It took us a few minutes, but now that we have the seats dialed in they are so comfortable. Don’t worry the captain chairs for your passenger are very comfortable for a long trip, and if you have average height individuals there is a nice 3rd row as well. Lincoln hit a home run on Aviator!
